Qualification And Approval
For Pet or Breeder
Purchases

We maintain an ongoing commitment to all kittens born at Bengal Exotic FX throughout their lives for on-going status of health and what we should be aware of when developing this breed.
We seek homes that will provide quality care, love and nurturing.
We look for responsible loving caregivers that will provide and attend to all veterinary
needs immediately as they arise or become due.

We provide consultation and discussion on all veterinary needs assisting in both understanding veterinary terminology
as well as common procedures.

We work along side your veterinarian should anything extrraordinary come up that needs attention and focus for the benefit of your Bengal.

Purchasing a kitten or cat from us, we would expect this little purrson to become an integral member of your family
and a cherished companion (as would your own child).

We would also expect that you will never consider parting with your kitten or cat unless absolutely necessary and that you will always contact us first should that need ever arise so that we could rehabilitate your pet and find a suitable home that meets their personal need.

All kittens are sold with a written kitten purchase contract that guarantees the health of the kitten and specifies our breeder commitment to you and the kitten for its entire lifetime. The kitten purchase contract includes what we ask of you to maintain the health, safety, care and happiness of the kitten or cat.

We have designed a simple questionnaire that you may view here and submit to us by email to provide for further consideration of acquiring one of our kittens. We do not take placement lightly. We seek qualified homes where often a personal phone call is suffice.
.
The optional questionnaire provides us additional information that is helpful in our being able to establish which areas of pet ownership a new pet owner could benefit from our guidance.

Also, please take a moment and read an excellent article published by the American Cat Fanciers Association,
Titled "What Breeders Look For In Buyers" which, although it is not written for any breed in particular, it may help answer a lot of questions for you and assist you to better understand why responsible and ethical breeders ask many questions.

Deposits

If the kitten you are looking for is currently not available, we accept a $200.00 deposit on a kitten from an
upcoming litter and place your name on our waiting list.
A deposit shows serious intent on a future selection from a litter at our cattery and gives you priority over what we are willing to let go to qualified and approved pet homes or breeder facilities.
The deposit has us contact you first when the new litters arrive, and you are under no obligation to purchase.
The deposit is refundable should you change your mind when we let you know what is available as it occurs. After selection it is no linger refundable..

Kitten Purchases

Kitten purchases require at least half (or full price) of the purchase being paid at the time of selection (ages 2 to 12 weeks)
which at that time the kitten sale becomes non-refundable.
In the event of a failure to thrive or a loss occur to the kitten, another selection will be offered, often of higher quality to compensate for the grief that may incur. This does not happen as a rule, but should it occur as we are working with naturem it has been our experience to offer great care and concern to our pet owners and not only make sure any lose is made right, but to support expectant owners through their lose and grief. YOu may rest assured that this breeder goes out of their way should this kind of misfortune occur.

The balance remaining of full purchase price becomes due and payable a few weeks before the scheduled spay or neuter date (at approximately 12 weeks of age) in order to solidify the purchase prior to disabling that kitten from being a breeder or otherwise.

Kittens remain with their mother and/or siblings for up to 5 (for neutered males) and up to 7 days (for spayed females) after altering and are determined to be normally emotionally matured and stabilized to our satisfaction. Kittens can go to their new homes by the age of usually 13 to 15 weeks. We will have assessed that they have achieved our developmental goals, are confident and strengthened in character and should then handle the transition to their new home with a minimum of stress, preventing most new placement transient complications.

Kittens required or requested to stay with the breeder for a short extended period of time to accommodate a new owner for any reason are welcome.

For Your Consideration:

A Bengal is an highly active, interactive, very intelligent, and high energy cat that loves to play,
climb and be in high places.
We often recommend (and prefer) that anyone purchasing a kitten seriously consider purchasing two at the same time.
They do well when not left alone for too much time, or when they are with a litter mate,
or children that have this same high energy :-) Two are always better than one.

Because this is our preference for the emotional health and happiness of the pet and family, we do reduce the price
of each if two are selected at the same time.
Please inquire about this.
